After a perfectly uncomplicated pregnancy and a relatively low-key, albeit prolonged (27+ hour) labor, Levi decided to make a dramatic exit. He was born via emergency c-section, after which we discovered what was making him so reluctant: the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck five times, causing his heart rate to plummet with every contraction and keeping him pretty well trussed up in the womb. He certainly wasn't going anywhere on his own. Thank God for modern medicine! Here are some pictures of our little miracle and our new life together...

Can we register for ammunition?

We have finally given in to overwhelming pressure by our family and friends and have "registered" for baby gifts. If you feel like buying something for the wee man, or if you just want to laugh at our pathetic attempt to figure out what kinds of things babies need, check out the baby registries at Baby's R Us or Target.

After all, what baby could live without a baby wipe warmer with a light?!

So, if you don't want the poor kid to go naked or suffer the horror of cold baby wipes, have at it! Otherwise, just send us your prayers... we'll need 'em.

First Post Ever!

Well, I guess this means that we've officially dragged our shaggy selves out of the stone age... WELCOME TO OUR BLOG!! It took a pregnancy and the guilt of being so far from family to finally convince us to share our lives electronically. Kind of freaky broadcasting our business to the universe, but at least, this way, we won't cripple your email with baby pictures once the Wee Man arrives.

Speaking of the wee'un, this is really why you're here...

Okay, so you've probably seen this picture already, since it was taken a couple of months ago at age 20 weeks. But even at this age, you can tell that he's perfect in so many ways. Apparently, he's quite the thinker...
